Social media is about providing value, and not always selling, thus building lifetime customers. For this strategy, we developed a weekly campaign that focused on adventures that users can go on. Each week we hand-selected locations in the area based on that weekend’s weather report. Our goal with this strategy was to create a place on The Ski Bums social media outlets that users would want to come back to each week to see a new location to explore that weekend.
We found that these posts did substantially better than product posts. Along with that, a user saw one of our #AdventureoftheWeek posts featuring a local trail with waterfalls. He took his girlfriend to the location and proposed to her there.
That specific user may not have bought a product at that moment, but we can guarantee that our client’s name will forever be apart of his engagement story and that they will be mentioned everytime his engagement story is told, creating lifetime customers.
